My PITC Teaching Residency ends with students reading from their new anthology. PEN in the Community (PITC) brings professional writers into underserved schools and communities through their Writer in Residence program and the Guest Speaker program.
For PITC’s Writer in Residence program, author Chris Terry created curriculum highlighting topics such as immigration, persecution, and assimilation to allow increased empathy to inform students’ own storytelling. These multigenerational workshops were informed and taught by myself and Peter H Z Tsu. Facebook link above.
